Foundation for Advertising Education

Growing Creative Minds

The next generation of industry innovators is learning the advertising profession today. The Foundation for Advertising Education was created in 1988 to improve the quality of advertising education in the Southwest.  Through faculty and institution grants, student scholarships, and funding for college-level competitions, the Foundation supports superior academic and practical opportunities that transform bright students into brilliant creative thinkers.

Academic Grant Program
You can direct your Foundation gift to the Academic Grant Program, through which the Foundation awards grants to advertising faculty and educational institutions in the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) Tenth District (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas).

Grants to faculty fund professional development and support applied or scholarly research.  Grants to institutions establish advertising professorships, fund new technology and buy resource materials.  In an industry that evolves daily, funding continuing education, research and new technology can have an immediate impact on faculty performance and thus the student experience.

Supporting the Student Experience
Practical experience is an invaluable counterpart to classroom learning.  Each year, the AAF’s National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) provides college advertising students with an opportunity to practice what they’ve learned as they develop a strategic advertising/marketing campaign for a corporate sponsor. The Foundation’s Advertising Education Sponsor program and its Tomorrow Fund support this challenging competition.

Advertising Education Sponsor (AES)
Student teams working towards the NSAC national finals must first compete at the district level.  As many as 18 teams from across four states vie for the opportunity to represent the Tenth District.

The tradition is rich: Tenth District collegiate teams have won more national champion titles than any other AAF district.Your sponsorship of the AES program provides ongoing funding for student team travel and other expenses for the District competition, as well as scholarships for advertising students in the District.

Because each year brings a new group of students to the District’s education initiatives, you will be offered an opportunity to renew your AES pledge annually.

The Tomorrow Fund

The Tomorrow Fund provides additional financial assistance for presentation expenses to Tenth District teams participating in the NSAC.  Funds will be distributed equally to each team participating in a given year.

Pay It Forward
Whether you choose to support the Academic Grant Program, Advertising Education Sponsor program or the Tomorrow Fund, your gift to the Foundation is both practical and meaningful.  A Foundation memorial gift creates a living legacy, but there are many reasons to donate now.  Commemorate a personal or professional milestone, honor a colleague or thank someone who was instrumental in your career. You may also want to consider remembering the Foundation in your will.  Consult your financial advisor or an estate planning attorney.
